Do you have some spare time and are looking to volunteer in some way? Can you help us reach the lives of older people in the Bexley Borough? We have a variety of volunteering opportunities for you to get involved in, so why not put your spare time to good use and help make a difference to the lives of older people in your community?
By volunteering for our befriending service, you can make a positive difference to the life of an isolated older person living in our community. All we ask is that you are available for up to 2 hours a week to visit an older person in their home to share a cup of tea and a chat and maybe a trip out. All our volunteers receive training and support, and are matched carefully with their client. Over time, we hope you will develop a good friendship with each other, and whilst your visits can vastly improve the lives and well-being of the older person, we believe befriending will be mutually enriching for you also.
Do you have experience in arranging fundraising events? Are you skilled in Trust Fund applications and reports? Are you the person who likes to raise funds by running a half marathon, or climbing a mountain, or arranging coffee mornings? Whatever your skills, if you are interested in raising funds for Evergreen which will help us provide much needed services for our older people, get in touch with us now and become a part of an organisation which is dedicated to improving the lives of the older people in Bexley. Sign up here for a Virgin Money Giving account to start fundraising.
Through faith, the simplest prayer can make the world of difference
Evergreen Care is a Christian organisation with the teachings of Jesus at its heart. As such, we always appreciate support in the form of prayer, and have a dedicated prayer team led by Jill Grant, our prayer coordinator. We welcome the opportunity to visit churches from across the borough to join in with their prayer times, and also hold a weekly prayer meeting in our offices. We also have regular contact with the prayer coordinators in our partner organisations in Stamford and Sleaford and regularly hold their needs up in prayer. If you would like to become a part of our prayer support, or would like to join us for prayer on a Friday, then please get in touch.
We are looking to enhance the existing skills of the Board of Trustees by recruiting at least two additional members. We are looking for people who have specific skills, knowledge or experience in any of the following areas: charity finance, commercial/private sector, public health and Social Care. Whatever your background, a commitment to the values and objectives of the charity will be crucial.
The role of the Trustee is to work in a team to ensure that the charity is administered effectively, holding the responsibility for overall control and management which includes Governance and Strategy.
It is essential that Trustees are committed Christians, and are committed to the organisations aims and values.
